XPeer is an exciting and highly interactive component designed for price comparison providers that want an innovative way to promote themselves within P2P file sharing applications. XPeer offers end users your product information and price comparison data based off the keyword(s) searches they perform while searching for files or music et cetera.

As an example, if a user searches for a particular music artist, XPeer will display a list of all the music, movies and books that feature references to that artist.

P2P application owners - XPeer is also a great way to keep your users on your site during the 'down time' of downloading. It keeps them interested with offers and information on related products, steers them away from looking at other non-revenue generating websites as well as encouraging your customers to click on highly targeted offerings, increasing your potential revenue (commisions).

Technical Overview

XPeer is a high performance and robust Web Application that runs in our Qtrax Media Centre. XPeer performs real-time price comparisons on a range of different products, consuming additional ASP.NET Web Services to query 3rd party/external XML data feeds using the search keywords a user submits in the parent application.

High levels of performance are achieved with the help of extensive caching and fast XML/ XSLT transformations for page rendering.

XPeer is a Microsoft ASP.NET Web Application running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 that uses a Microsoft SQL 2000 database and an XML file repository for data storage. XPeer also consumes external user defined/configurable Web Services and data sources as required.
